Right in the heart of the Caribbean is the Dominican Republic, where the temperature ranges from 25-32 degrees Celsius in August. The weather is perfect for lazing about in the beautiful, white, sandy beaches. Punta Cana is among these and it is especially cheap at this time of year because August is considered part of the low season despite the dry, sunny weather.

Jamaica

Jamaica

Like the Dominican Republic, the weather is just gorgeous at this time of your in this part of the Caribbean. The average temperature ranges from 26-33 degrees Celsius. Simply put, the sun is out most of the time in Jamaica and there is no shortage of beaches to choose from here.

You might want to try Ocho Rios which is on the east side of the Montego Bay. Access is easy as you’ll be landing in the Montego Bay Airport. Like the Dominican Republic, August is considered a low season in Jamaica so the chances are good that you’ll be on the receiving end of good deals from resorts in Ocho Rios.

Sofia, Bulgaria

Sofia, Bulgaria

If you’re not so keen on the Caribbean, then head out east to Bulgaria. The temperature here ranges from 14 to 26 degrees Celsius, which is still ideal for a stroll outdoors. Sofia is a great choice for a traveller who loves to see cultural attractions.

For starters, go to the Museum of Socialist Art where some of the unwanted statues of Lenin are housed. There are paintings on display here, while you can also catch a few old propaganda films.

There’s also the Aleksander Nevski Church, a massive and impressive church that was built in the 19th century in tribute to thousands of Russian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Bulgaria’s independence.

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Unlike the entire Southeast Asian region which experiences the rainy season in August, this part of Nha Trang enjoys sunny weather during that month. Temperature ranges from 26-32 degrees Celsius.

You’ve heard how great the beaches are in Southeast Asia, and Nha Trang is no exception. Aside from the white sand beaches, Nha Trang is cheap for the typical tourist so you won’t be spending a lot here.

These are just four places that you can go to in August, or just when summer is about to end. But before you book a flight to any of these places, buy travel insurance first. With a decent travel insurance policy, you can be assured of a worry-free trip.
