Winter Sports Travel Insurance

What is Winter Sports Travel Insurance?

Winter Sports travel insurance policies have been designed to cover people travelling out on a skiing or snow boarding holiday and gives you that extra cover for that expensive equipment or compensation should your resort be closed due to lack of snow (please see terms and conditions). Winter Sports Travel Insurance is also referred to as ski travel insurance or snowboarding travel insurance.

The cheapest winter sports policy is £ (based on 1 adult aged up to 50 travelling in Europe for up to 8 days).

Winter Sports Travel Insurance Key Benefits

  • Cover for accidental loss, theft or damage to your own or hired ski equipment - up to £500 in total
  • A daily payment if your own equipment is lost, stolen or damaged in transit - up to £20 per day.
  • End Supplier Insolvency Insurance including Scheduled Airline Insolvency Insurance
  • Cover towards transport costs to an alternative site, if your own resort is closed for more than 12 hours - up to £200 in total
  • Cover for the unused portion of your ski pack following your illness, injury, or if you lose your lift pass - up to £400 in total
  • Emergency Recovery (including helicopter rescue if medically necessary) and any associated medical expenses is included in the Emergency Medical Expenses section of the policy - up to £10 Million in total.

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) / Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) provides some emergency healthcare within the EU, but it does not cover Repatriation costs, or a doctor or nurse escort home; nor lost or stolen property. You need Travel Insurance for that.
