With the festive season now closing in fast, many of you will be looking forward to taking the burden off your shoulders and heading for your Christmas break. Its the Norfolk retreat of Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Harry and Kate will be keeping up the tradition and spending this Christmas at Sandringham with the Queen. They will attend church in the morning on the Sandringham Estate before heading back to their much-loved palatial country manor that has been the private home of four generations of British monarchs since 1862. You can take a peek at the Royals stunning country home and estate after 1st April when it opens again to the public. But if you can't wait until then, you can enjoy a Christmas Lunch at the Sandringham Café and Restaurant.
Iconic Italy is another location that sees holidaymakers flocking from all over the globe. Hugely popular through the summer, it is now fast-becoming a winter holiday hot spot, especially during Christmas. Italians love the festive season, and if you want proof, just check out Jamie Oliver’s Christmas cookery specials. Celebrities Kim K and Kanye West, love it so much that they chose to get married there.
If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones then Dubrovnik is the place to go. The city of Dubrovnik serves as the fictional capital of Westeros – Kings Landing. The historic city offers stunning architecture, fun night life, fine dining, and amazing beach resorts. Numerous celebrities are said to be huge fans of the city, with many choosing to spend Christmas there, including Tom Cruise, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, and the late, great Sir Roger Moore. Hilary Clinton and former president Bill Clinton also adore Dubrovnik, and who wouldn’t?
Croatia is so special that we are sticking with it for a while, as next on our list is Hvar. It has spectacular mountainous landscapes, golden sandy beaches, clear blue seas, and some of the most amazing hiking trails you can imagine. If the thought of a grey and drizzly December in the UK doesn’t appeal to you, why not take a page out of Prince Harry’s book and schedule a stay in Hvar instead?
Ibiza may be considered the party island of Spain, but during the quieter months of the year, when it’s off-season, it is a joy to be in. Ibiza has warm sunshine in December, amazing natural surroundings, fantastic beach resorts, and there will be plenty of Christmas festivities to get involved in as well. Many music-loving celebs adore Ibiza, including Orlando Bloom, and Kate Moss.
